Closer to the consumer
“I participate in the Caring Dairy project, because it brings me closer to the consumer with a product, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, that appeals to me. But also because I enhance my knowledge by this project and I like to participate in a project that is just different from anything else out there. A lot of things we deal with in the project, I already know in a way, but the approach of really measuring all the indicators, analysing the data, discuss it with each other and the experts from Wageningen University really makes it real, you can’t avoid it anymore. It’s a kind of awareness process that helps me to take real action. I’m now for example improving my barn and with that the housing conditions of my cows by installing comfortable cow mattresses.”
