What's Join Our Core?
Join Our Core was inspired by our co-founders, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who back in '78 decided to launch a business with an economic, product and social mission, all of equal importance.
A movement was starting all over the world with people using business to create social and environmental change.
For Ben & Jerry's this means finding social enterprises like Greyston Bakery to source brownies from, making sure our milk comes from happy cows on Caring Dairy farms and sourcing Fairtrade ingredients to empower the developing world.
As a part of the Join Our Core movement, you'll be in the good company of past winners whose work includes; producing fairtrade greeting cards, brought free maths tutoring to children all over, and bringing renewable cooking fuel pellets to developing countries
Sponsored by our new range
Inspired by our three-part mission we are looking to see your product, social and economic mission. So we’ll be judging ventures on your potential for:
- social or environment impact
- financial sustainability
We will prioritise our support on those ventures that have the most feasible plan for delivering these and that could benefit most from Join Our Core. But in addition you must be:
- committed to running a crowdfunding campaign to raise at least €20,000 launching in mid-May (ideally 18th) for 4-8 weeks
- able to attend our two-day Scoop Camp in April (register your interest for these dates)
- aged 18-40
- a resident in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden or the UK at the time of application although the business itself can have impact in any country in the world
