Join Time to Act 2015 on March 7 to Call for Climate Action
Curbing climate change is top of mind for all of us. We need to be sure it’s top of mind for the world’s politicians. Time to Act 2015 is working to build on the diverse global movement demanding action. March 7 is the next important date for you to pay attention to.
In recent years academics, scientists, and business leaders have been sounding the call and millions of activists and citizens from around the world have stood up to demand action to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
2014 will go down as the warmest year on record. 2015 has featured drastic weather anomalies across the globe. Ocean temperatures have been rising faster than anyone expected. Global citizens are acutely aware that climate change is happening now and stands to get much worse.
Still, governments around the world are slow to act. The forces of the status quo are entrenched and powerful. That’s why now more than ever, it’s time to put the pressure on world leaders. 2014 saw climate activism reach new heights. Hundreds of thousands took to the streets. It was a wake-up call for politicians.
In 2015 we need to build on that momentum and press for a global effort to fight the forces that are changing our climate. The Paris climate talks are looming. Binding agreements are vital to controlling a run-away climate and business as usual. As citizens our voices are vital.
Time is running out. It is time to act. As citizens, voters, and concerned human beings we’re taking to the streets again. March 7 is a day of action. Get out in your community and make climate the priority in this most crucial year. To learn more and get organized visit: http://www.timetoact2015.org/
