Be part of the UK’s largest ever meeting with MPs on climate change!
On Wednesday 17th June, thousands of people from across the UK will gather in central London to talk to their MPs about the issue of climate change. It’s likely to be the largest EVER meeting with MPs on climate change in UK history! We’re inviting all of our fans in the UK to get involved in the event and play your role in securing the future of our planet. Ben & Jerry’s will be there to keep you activists cool by scooping ice cream, so come along for a double dip of ice cream and activism.
You may have noticed we had an election a few weeks back, during which many of our prospective Prime Ministers and MPs failed to raise the issue of climate change. Here at Ben & Jerry’s we wanted to draw attention to this, so headed down to Westminster and created giant ice sculptures of our leaders. You can take it from us ice cream guys, that “if it’s melted, it’s ruined”, which is not only true for the ice caps, but was also true of our potential prime ministers.
Now our new MPs have been elected and taken their seats in parliament, it’s time to remind them of their pre-election pledge… and the best way to do this? Come and speak to them! Our friends at The Climate Coalition have arranged for the biggest EVER meeting with MPs, so it’s important to get as many people down to Westminster as possible! It’s vital that those who debate and vote on the future of our country understand the importance of climate change, the role that the UK can play in helping fight climate change, and the urgent need to shift our world towards a low carbon economy. To do this we need to show that the citizens of the UK care about climate change, and that’s why we need you to come and join us on June 17th.
Where: Westminster, Central London.
When: Wednesday 17th June, 12pm-5:30pm.

To top it all off, we’ll be scooping our Fairtrade flavours to those queuing up to meet their MPs from our new “cleaner greener” freezer bikes. We’ll be based in Archbishop Park in Lambeth all day, with our bikes heading out to the lobby event. Come along and say hello, and help fight climate change by signing our Save Our Swirled petition, a campaign we’re running with Avaaz to get international leaders to work towards 100% Clean Energy by 2050.
