Cookie Dough
Vanilla ice cream with chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolatey chunks
In 1986, following a tip from a fan, we pondered putting cookie dough in our ice cream – a radical idea back then, and a tricky flavour to make; our machines couldn’t handle those big chunks of dough. We had to hand-cut the chunks & throw them into the vanilla ice cream! Five years later, applying a few secret techniques, we found chunk feeder perfection. Twenty years on, we made this fan-favourite Fairtrade too! Happy days…

The Story Under the Lid
Our Burlington Scoop Shop had a flavour suggestion board and this flavour was suggested anonymously. From the minute it was introduced it was a huge hit. Because the Burlington Scoop Shop made most of their own flavours, it was only available there. Folks would come from all over just to get cookie dough. One of our employees remembers seeing a group of sorority girls from the University of Vermont trek down the hill only to find that the Scoop Shop was out of cookie dough. They ended up going to the grocery store across the street and purchasing a roll of slice-and-bake cookie dough. They brought it back, ordered vanilla ice cream, cut up the roll and stirred it in.
